Let usĀ use this great shot by GL360 Productions to introduce Asharp, the next star in the Time For My Music Evening Showcaseās line-up.
Asharp is a versatile saxophonist who plays all three alto, tenor and soprano sax. She has recently broadened her talents by branching out as a solo artist, and is now a regular performer at the āWednesday Mic Feverā happening at the Legacy Centre.
This is what she told the audience about her experience with Time For My Music:
I joined Time For My Musicāit wasnāt at the beginning, but probably after theyād had about two or three sessions [ā¦] What I found has helped me most is learning about technology, because Iām the worldās worst when it comes to computers and technology. Millicent, I donāt know how she has managed to do it. Sheās just so patient when I canāt log in or pick up the password. She doesnāt shout at all, she just talks calmly, which is good for me, ācause Iāll panic at it even more [otherwise].Ā
Itās the meetings, the fellowship. Yo

Today, itās Melodyās turn to be under the spotlight. Sheās a featured vocalist with the NotebendersĀ big band, whose voice has been praised for being smooth and angelic on the high notes when singing classical songs and jazz.
During the Evening Showcase last year, she had this to say about Time For My Music:
[ā¦] Time For My Music is like a sisterhood, a fellowship. Itās togetherness, a way to put ourselves out in the world as musicians together.Ā
[ā¦] Millicent has a wonderful gift, a very open heart. Sheās very patient with us. I can see that she gives, she goes beyond the mile, many more times than that. Iām truly grateful, also, for the support that she receives in doing this from the family, and for the support of the group. Itās one of the reasons Iām standing here, and Iād like to thank Patricia because, when I started to meet up with the community bands and the Notebenders, it was Patricia who told me about Cafemnee, which was a forerunner to Time For My Music. So thank you a

Today,Ā we want to share the words that Patricia had to say about her experience in Time For My Music during the Evening Showcase last year.
Patricia isĀ a quiet person, rather on the shy side, but the deep rich tones on her tenor sax speak volumes. Itās always a delight to watch her play! Although there were two online concerts before the Evening Showcase, this is the first time she appears on camera, captured wonderfully by the team of GL360 Productions in video and photos like the one you see above.
This is what sheĀ said to the audience:
On the second half of the show, weāre supposed to say a little bit about Time For My Music and what it means for us. Iām sure weāre going to be repetitive, so donāt be surprised. But as Michelle says, Millicent is a wonderful person. Sheās been blessed with a gift and a talent for playing music. But not only does she bless people with her own music, she has put this group together, which has been going for a good few years now, before lockdown, a

During the second part of the Time For My Music Evening Showcase, the women addressed the audience to tell them a little about their aspirations, and how the work with the online programme has supported them in their journey. We will share transcriptions of selected fragments, so you can get a better idea of how Time For My Music can support you or someone you know achieve their goals in the music industry.
Letās start with Michelle, a saxophonist who regularly enchants audiences with the Notebenders at Birmingham Symphony Hall and other prestigious venues,Ā She aspires to become a sought-after studio session saxophonist, and thisĀ is what she had toĀ sayĀ about Time For My Music:
Iāve been in Time For My Music for some time now, and I never ever thought that Iād actually perform in a setting like this.
What we do is: we meet up in person and online, and we share ideas. We talk about what things have gone wrong. We talk about our ambitions, and about songs we want to learn. [...] With

In preparation of the Drink, Chill and Chat in personĀ eventĀ we'll have this Saturday 10th June on Birmingham, today we want to share a testimonial given by Time For My Music's member Janice about the good things that have come out of being part of the community for her:
Hi all.
I just managed to watch the video from the last DCC. I would like to thank everyone very much for their encouragement and support during my journey as a solo artist. These things mean a lot to me, and I am so lucky to have you all in my life. You all push me forwards and instil me with confidence, self-esteem and belief. Also, thanksĀ to those who were able to attend the āWednesday Mic Feverā where I was featured. I really appreciate the feedback and lovely comments. It was truly an amazing experience that I will treasure forever. Things would not be the same, though, without the women from Time For My Music. The sessions have prepared me for the future and I still have a lot more to learn. I can say that I kno...
Some time ago, Sharon attended one of Millicent's "getting paid" webinars. She applied the principles discussed during the session and got good results, so she wrote to Millicent to tell her all about it. We are very happy for Sharon and want to share her words with you:
Ā
Thank you so much, Millicent!
I really should have messaged you before, but here it is: I am so grateful for the tips you gave on the webinar. I followed your advice about mentioning expenses and I received Ā£60 and food for a community event āš¾. In the end, it was only required to do a play/workshop for about 15mins. The organiser was very happy š. A young woman came to me afterwards and asked if I would record her playing the djembe. She had played dhol drum years back and experienced low self esteem, largely due to family dynamics. She left the event with her recording and beaming š. This was a fantastic exchange and made it all so worth it š¤©
Thank you so much again, Millicent! šš¾ā¤ļø
Ā
Best wishes for both...
